Choose Gallery
By default, PowerGallery will contain a single gallery, but you can have as many galleries as you would like and can rename them.
Select a gallery to modify
If your PowerGallery contains multiple image galleries, you will need to specify which gallery you wish to edit.
To do this, select the Edit This Gallery button next to the image you wish to work on.
Once selected, the gallery will be labeled as the Selected Gallery, and in the top-right corner it will display which gallery is currently being edited.
Add Images
The Add Images section allows you to add images to your PowerGallery through the following two different methods.
Single Image Upload
If the image you want to upload is not already on your server, upload that image using the Single Image Upload option. Due to your server's limitations, there is a maximum file size that can be uploaded and only one image can be uploaded at a time.
- Choose the Image Browse option.
- Select the image file you wish to upload and choose Open.
- Enter a title for this image.
- Enter a description for the image.
- Click Add Image.
Once the image has been uploaded, it will automatically appear in the gallery you are currently editing.
Server File Upload
If you have already uploaded the image(s) to your server, you can use the Server Upload option. Since the images have already been uploaded to your server, this is the fastest method of importing a large number of images into PowerGallery.
- Choose the Server Upload tab.
- Click the Image Folder Browse icon.
- Select the directory on your server that contains the images you wish to import.
- Click Add Images.
A dialog will display the progress of your image importing. This can take some time as images are being processed to work with your gallery. Once all the images are added, they will automatically appear in the gallery you are editing.
Manage Images
The Manage Images interface allows you to easily reorder images, rotate images, and modify the titles and descriptions.
Reordering Images
To reorder an image, simply drag the image with your mouse to the location in your gallery you wish for it to appear. The first image displayed on this page is the first image to appear in the gallery.
Modifying Titles and Descriptions
To modify the titles and descriptions for each image, select the image you wish to modify. Once the image is selected, a purple border will appear around the image. Using the Image Info window, you can enter the desired title and description for that image.
Once you have made your changes, click Save Changes.
Rotating Images
To rotate your image, choose the rotate icon that appears when hovering your mouse over an image.
The rotate dialog will appear allowing you to choose from three different orientation options. Once you have rotated the image, click Close to exit the dialog.
Choose Design
PowerGallery includes a number of different gallery designs for you to choose from. By default, the Grid + Fullsize (dark) will be selected for each new gallery.
To change galleries, simply click on the desired design with your mouse. The gallery will instantly be highlighted and labeled as the current theme.
You can preview each gallery before making a selection by choosing the preview link beneath each design thumbnail.
The preview will load in a separate window and display exactly what your gallery will look like in that theme.
Add to Site
The Add to Site page gives you the necessary information for adding your gallery to any website. You can add your gallery to your site in two different ways.
Direct Link to your Gallery
The Direct Link to your Gallery option allows you to place a link within any web page, which launches the gallery in a new window. This method is especially useful if you want to make the gallery accessible on a web page that is not PHP.
Embed in PHP Page
You can also embed your gallery within any PHP page that is on the same server as your PowerGallery. The code provided on the page must be inserted within the <body> tags of your page, exactly where you wish the gallery to appear.
Note: When embedding the gallery on your page, you will also need to make sure there is a DOCTYPE tag specified at the top of the page. Without this tag, your gallery may not display in some browsers.
Settings
The settings interface allows you to change/apply a watermark for the images in your gallery, as well as change the username/password for logging into the PowerGallery Administrative Area.
Changing your Watermark
Whenever you change the watermark that is applied to your images, each image will be modified to include the new text. This may take a while depending on how many images are in the current gallery.
If you wish to remove the watermark from the images in your gallery, simply delete the text in the Text Overlay field and click Update Watermark.
